Rev. Wally Arp
Member-at-Large

Wally Arp was born in 1958. Attended the University of Iowa from 1980-1983 and received his Bachelors of Arts. Attended Concordia at Theo Seminary (LCMS) in Fort Wayne, Indiana and received his Master of Divinity in 1988. Ordained Minister for the SELC District. In September of 2015, Rev. Arp has held the District 1st Vice President position. Senior Pastor for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Oviedo, FL. He currently lives in Winter Springs, FL with his wife Lois. They have four children and six grandchildren.
 



 

Rev. Daniel Berteau
SELC Eastern Circuit Representative

Rev. Daniel Berteau's life has been characterized by a profound commitment to service and faith. In July 1982, he answered the call of duty by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, dedicating four years to active duty and another eight in the Marine Corps Reserve. During his time in the Reserves, he pursued his education at Concordia College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and later at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. After completing his seminary studies, Rev. Berteau embarked on his pastoral journey, initially serving as Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Genoa, Illinois, for five years.

The events of 9/11 led him to hear another call, this time to serve as a military chaplain in the United States Navy, where he ministered through Word and Sacrament to sailors and Marines both in combat zones and on Navy ships. After 15 years of dedicated military ministry, he retired from active duty in 2016. Subsequently, he embraced a new calling as the Senior Pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Manchester, New Jersey. He resides in Forked River, New Jersey, with his wife, Janelle, and together they have four children and twelve grandchildren.
 



 

Rev. Jon Carpenter
SELC Central Circuit Representative

Born in Coshocton, Ohio, in the heart of the western Appalachian region, Rev. Carpenter’s life journey has been marked by both geographic shifts and unwavering passions. Faith has played a significant role in his journey, with a transformative moment occurring in 1997 when, at the age of twenty-one, he found solace in the embrace of Jesus. A decade later, a spiritual odyssey led him to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

Rev. Carpenter earned a bachelor’s degree in computer design and animation from Kent State University, complemented by meaningful work in nursing homes and resident communities, which paved the way for his calling to Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he graduated as a member of the Covid-19 Class of 2020. Today, he continues to serve as an Associate Pastor at St. John Lutheran Church in Massillon, Ohio. He is married to Shannon and together they have three children.

My name is Wendy Duda Clark. I am a Kindergarten Teacher at St. Lukes. I have been teaching for 28 years. I have a son named Gary. I have been a member of St. Luke's since birth.
 



 

Rev. Tige Culbertson
SELC Southeran Circuit Representative
St. Luke's Lutheran Church Senior Pastor

Rev. Tige Culbertson's life journey has been marked by faith, love, challenges, and a relentless commitment to service. His educational path began at Concordia University – River Forest, where he earned a B.A in Theological Languages. It was during this time that he met and fell in love with Sara, whom he would later marry in 1998. His pursuit of spiritual growth led him to Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, where he continued his theological education.

Today, Rev. Culbertson continues his service as the Senior Pastor for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and School in Oviedo, FL, where he resides with his wife Sara and daughter Faith. His life's mission remains steadfast: to magnify the passion and promises of Jesus through relational and transformational engagement with people. He also enjoys cooking (and eating), watching movies with his family and soaking in the Florida sun.
 



 

Rev. John Gutz

Pastor, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Streator, IL 1992-present. Served Trinity Lutheran, Centralia, IL 1988-1992. Served vicarage under Rev. Al Marcis, Parma, OH. 1988 graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. B.A. from Concordia College, Seward, NE.1984. Trained as a Synodical Reconciler. Served on the SELC Stewardship and Constitution Committees. Married to Sandra(Sandy). 3 children. 2 grandchildren. Blessed more than I deserve.
 



 

Mrs. Susan Hanas

Susan Hanas was born and raised in Oviedo and a member of the Duda Family and is seated on the Board as the Duda family representative. Susan Duda Hanas (Chairman), Former Superintendent of St. Luke’s Lutheran School.
 



 

Rev. George Hansell
Member-at-Large

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Pastor Hansell is a 1981 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana where he earned his Master of Divinity Degree in Practical Theology. He did his undergraduate work at Concordia Lutheran College in Austin, Texas (1975) and Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Illinois (1977) where he earned his B.A. in Elementary Education. He was ordained in his home congregation, Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fairhope, Alabama on June 7, 1981.Before coming to Grace, Pastor Hansell served as a Missionary-At-Large for Hispanic Ministry in Detroit, Michigan (1981-1985); Pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oneida, NY (1985-1995); Pastor of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg, PA (1995-2003); and Interim/Vacancy Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Munson, PA (2003-2004).Rev. George R. Hansell, Jr. was installed as Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church on October 31, 2004. Pastor Hansell is married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Pastor Hansell retired on August 16, 2021.

Ms. Ardyne Kirn
SELC Lay Representative

A member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Crown Point, IN and a member of the SELC since baptism in 1946 at Dr. Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, Gary, IN. Registered Occupational Therapist in private practice serving patients in Home Health Care. I have served as Lay Representative on the Board of Trustees of Lutheran Haven since 1997. Mother of two daughters and grandmother to 4 granddaughters
 



 

Rev. Waldemar Vinovskis
SELC District President

Rev. Vinovskis is a Graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO with a Masters of Divinity in 1992 and has served as Pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church, Macungie, PA since 2001. University of Nebraska – Lincoln, NE – Bachelor Arts 1987. He and his wife Cyndi have four children. He serves as a Board Member of the East Penn School District and Lehigh Valley Community Public Radio.
